It's Sketch Time!!

We used to have sketches as a regular feature a while back and decided that it was time to have another sketch month - and we'd love for you to join us!!

One of our Design Team members, Suzanna Lee, created a sketch for us to use throughout the month of March.  We gave it to our Design Team and asked them to create a few projects based on this sketch - some themes will include St. Patrick's Day and Easter.

We would love for to see your creations using this sketch as well.

So if you'd like to play along here's what you need to do.

SKETCH CHALLENGE:
Create a project (card, layout, etc) using the sketch below as your inspiration.

THEN ....
1. Post your creation on our Facebook Page OR leave a link here to your project that you posted in an online gallery. (make sure to post your link on THIS page - dated March 2, 2015)
OR
2. You can post on Instagram and TAG us #imaginiscesketchchallenge.

At the end of March we will pick ONE lucky winner to win a Prize Package from Imaginisce!

Sketch:
Remember the saying "the chicken before the egg or the egg before the chicken"? That's along the lines of what I often wonder about sketches: "layout based on the sketch or the sketch based on the layout"? With regards to today's sketch the answer is sketch based on the layout. All of my sketches evolve from completed layouts. There are elements on the layout that are not on the sketch and that's okay. I don't want people to feel restricted by what they can or cannot have on their layouts. As always, sketches are open to interpretation.

Suzanna's Layout:
This layout is driven by the color combinations. I don't know what it is but the teal, red and black with the touch of orange really appeal to me. That touch of orange just pops the bowling ball that my daughter is holding.

For the title of the layout I tried to mimic the retro "bowl" sign that is on the background paper. It's not quite the same but the general idea is there with the rectangle tiles and a letter per tile. It was easy to do with scraps of paper. I just fussy cut the white cardstock around the foam letters that came with the Family Fun collection.

The buttons with the holes reminded me of bowling balls so of course those had to go on the layout as well. I don't know that I would recommend bowling with them, the fourth finger hole might add an interesting twist to the game!

Supplies
Patterned paper, buttons, letter stickers, stickers and dimensional stickers; Family Fun
